TRIPTYCH: Three Folds, Three-Piece Collection per Designer

College of St. Benilde’s Fashion Design graduating class showcased their collections at the Sofitel Harbor Tent last March 31, 2012.

The show was entitled TRIPTYCH. According to http://www.thefreedictionary.com/triptych, it means:

1. (Fine Arts & Visual Arts / Art Terms) a set of three pictures or panels, usually hinged so that the two wing panels fold over the larger central one: often used as an altarpiece

2. a set of three hinged writing tablets

[from Greek triptukhos, from tri- + ptux plate; compare diptych]

So why TRIPTYCH? There were 3 panels onstage and every designer showcased a 3-piece collection.

48 DESIGNERS showcased their designs. 56 MODELS walked down the runway.
